Best game of the 2009?

Austin Chronicle gives Time Fcuk "Best game of the 2009", somehow beating out Super Mario Wii, Uncharted 2 and Scribblenauts (im avoiding the mention of DJ hero as #2 on this list).

Full Story Here (http://www.austinchronicle.com/gyrobase/Issue/story?oid=oid:933325)

Pretty wacky stuff, we working on TF i honestly though it would be a bit too strange for most peoples tastes but the reception its gotten has been better then anything ive worked on in ages. I honestly though the IGN win was a fluke but TF has also made it into the top 10 indie games of the year on the Escapist, Indiegamesblog and Tigsource, good times.

The now overshadowed Spewer also made it into a few of them as well. Interestingly enough Spewer has become my most played game of all time closing in at a little over 11 million plays in the past 8 months. Its kind of interesting to see my "award winning" works like Aether, Coil and Time Fcuk get totally destroyed number wise by games like Meat Boy, Spewer and Host.

A great way to end the year!, 2009 was a very interesting and major transitional year for me. I was able to complete 2 of my best pieces, (Time Fcuk and Spewer). i tend to get sick of my work quickly and even start to hate my previous projects (coil for example) but both of these games are ones im still very proud of and i feel show a lot of growth.

I also did a game called AVGM for the global game jam early this year with Tyler. Its something we made in 4-5 hours but its quite amusing and i think shows the "addiction" formula used in most casual games today in its more basic form.

But there is one game that i did very late last year that kinda slipped through the cracks, Grey Matter. An anti shooter i did with Tommy, actually the game that basically started Team Meat.

And speaking of Team Meat, many of you know 2009 also marked the year i decided to make the move to console development with Super Meat Boy. So far development for a console title has been slightly alien to me, a lot of it is pretty backwards and not what im use to, but im stating to see the positive aspects of this kind of development and trying my best to embrace them. Super Meat Boy is something im taking great pride in and really pushing myself to the limit with, im sure its something ill look back on next year with pride.

XOXO
