Hitler was a vegetarian

I didn't want to cannibalize Alex's Post about his latest game A New Zero, on the Crypic Sea blog so I thought I'd post this news here first.

As I mentioned last month, our next big Cryptic Sea release is an "album" of retro inspired games that will play kind of like tracks on a cd called No Quarter. My current favorite of the bunch is a game we have code named "gun" (it's not going to be called gun).

The basic story is as follows:\

Hitler survived and relocated to a remote island where he cloned himself 1000s of time to form a small society of Hitlers hell bent on world domination. You play as Vinko, a Russian secret agent sent to save the world.

The Hitler clones come in varying forms of degradative states ranging from the mentally retarded and horribly mutated to the super elite. I threw together a video of the beta (2 weeks in) from a few days ago, some of you might appreciate seeing a work in progress (rag doll Hitlers FTW!).

We submitted No Quarter to the IGF this year, it's still extremely early but the goal is to update it as we go, so fingers crossed that the judges check and we make it in.

The current track listing so far is: (Note that track titles are not final)

1."gun" (Mario + Wolfenstein)
2.Trivium (Tetris + Physics)
3."epic flail" (Missle Command + Rampage)
4.Hext (Scrabble + Hex board)
5."tree" (Art game + Sim)
6.Odyssey ( Lunar Lander + Awesome )

I'll post more info and screens from each game next week on the Cryptic Sea blog, but till then play A New Zero, it's fucking awesome.

Goo! and more

So Tommy Refenes (of Goo! and Grey Matter fame) came down to Santa Cruz last week to work on some games and "chill". Having him down here has been awesome, we started work on our little ipod game, mapped out what we are going to do for our next flash game and are currently trying to get something going for the next tig compo.

He leaves tomorrow, but will be heading back in feb. hopefully for a while. it would be awesome to have him work with us on Gish 2 and maybe even a few little console games ......

in other news, i did a fun little interview with Destructoid last week, i forgot to post it.

Check it out here

So as some of you know, Danielle (my wife) has been doing all the shipping of the cds, so i wanted to take the opportunity to give her "mad props" for being so awesome and taking on the hellish job of filling out and mailing all your packages their far far away destinations.

Speaking of Danielle, i just put up a SUPER SPECIAL EDITION CD PACKAGE!!!!, this one comes with a handmade dead baby plush doll made by the eternally awesome Danielleorama.

We are also selling the larger plush dead baby dolls separately to those of you who might have already ordered the "not so special" edition ive been selling for the past 5 days.

Thank you!

I feel the need to make a Thank you post.

so many of you have really really pulled out all the stops to represent and post about my cd, your support and kind e-mails/comments are greatly appreciated.

honestly i didn't think that many people would care.

Ive send out the 1st shipment of etsy orders today, as a thank you i put a unique drawing/special message and stickers/cards in every order.

From now on though i will only be shipping "special edition" discs to those who order the "special edition", now featured in my etsy shop.

The Special Edition Features a signed copy of the CD with a drawing and secret message from me, as well as 2 stickers, cards and whatever else i find laying around when im stuffing them.

Im also now offering a "whole sale" price for bulk orders over 10 copies. Bulk orders sell for 70$ for 10 CDs, so you save 30 bucks (great for xmas!)

http://edmundm.com/

"I've spent the past 10 years of my life trying my best to stay independent and work on personal projects I felt had meaning to me and what I was trying to express as an artist. All my work has a personal cathartic theme. I don't censor my ideas even if they contradict my personal views and I think that's something very important when it comes to making art. Thanks for buying the CD, I hope you enjoy my work.'

PLEASE spread the word people! this is honestly everything ive done artistically for the past 10 years.. that's 1 buck a year! WHAT A DEAL!
